Serving Size:
Use 15g (2 tablespoons) tea leaves for one cup of Hong Kong Milk Tea.
Recommended Preparation:
Step 1: Add 15g (2 tablespoons) tea leaves into a tea filter, infuser or strainer.
Step 2: Add 250ml of boiling water (100 degrees Celsius) to tea leaves.
Step 3: Steep the tea for 8-15 minutes (based on preference for tea richness)
Step 4: Remove tea leaves.
Step 5: Add 60ml of evaporated milk to the brewed tea.
Step 6: Add 5g (1 teaspoon) white sugar to tea, and stir.
Notes:
1. Milk Tea with Condensed Milk: Add 20ml of condensed milk and 40ml of evaporated milk to the brewed tea. No sugar is needed.
2. Recommended milk-to tea-ratio: 1:3
3. Summary: For 250ml of boiling water, you will get about 180ml of brewed tea after steeping (as about 70ml of water would be absorbed by tea leaves). Then add 60ml of evaporated milk according to the 1:3 milk to tea ratio.
Tips:
1. Using our tea filters for Hong Kong Milk Tea can quicken and maximize tea flavor extraction.
2. Adding white sugar is highly recommended to balance out the astringency taste.
3. The hotter the water the better to extract tea flavor and aroma.
